Integrated NGS & Orbitrap Platform

Our facility is equipped with cutting-edge genomic and proteomic instrumentation. In genomics, we use Illumina next-generation sequencers and microarray scanners; in proteomics/metabolomics, we use a Thermo Fisher Orbitrap mass spectrometer. These tools enable rapid, high-quality analysis of DNA/RNA and biomolecules.

Sequencing Platforms

Illumina NovaSeq 6000

A powerful next-generation DNA sequencer offering very high throughput (up to ~6 Tb per run) and flexible run times. It supports massive projects by delivering billions of reads in under two days, enabling comprehensive genomic coverage and fast, accurate results.

Illumina NovaSeq X Plus

An ultra-high-throughput sequencer. Its dual-flow-cell design can generate ~16 Tb of data per run (tens of billions of reads). This extraordinary output is suited for large-scale studies (for example, sequencing thousands of whole genomes per year).

Illumina MiSeq

A compact benchtop sequencer ideal for smaller projects. It provides high-quality data with very rapid turnaround — for instance, it can go from DNA sample to sequence data in about 8 hours. It is commonly used for targeted gene panels, small-genome sequencing, and microbial/16S metagenomic studies.

Mass Spectrometry System

Thermo Fisher Orbitrap Exploris LC-MS: A high-resolution liquid chromatography–mass spectrometry system for biomolecular analysis. Orbitrap Exploris instruments provide high mass accuracy and sensitivity (high-resolution, accurate-mass MS). They support deep metabolomic profiling by precisely identifying lipids, metabolites and other small molecules.

Microarray Scanner

Illumina iScan System: A high-throughput microarray scanner that images BeadChip arrays for genotyping, methylation, and cytogenomic studies. It uses advanced lasers and optics to achieve sub-micron resolution, enabling very fast scan times without sacrificing data quality. This “state-of-the-art” scanner produces exceptionally accurate data across hundreds of samples per day.

Our NGS laboratory houses Illumina sequencing systems for rapid, large-scale DNA/RNA analysis. Next-generation sequencing (NGS) can simultaneously read millions of short DNA/RNA fragments, so we can generate enormous volumes of raw sequence data quickly.

The NovaSeq instruments extend this capability to massive projects, producing hundreds of gigabases per run. After sequencing, we use bioinformatics pipelines to convert the raw reads into assembled genomes or expression profiles for downstream research.

Bioinfomatics lab develops and applies computational methods to analyze and interpret the omics data generated by the other departments. Phenome Omics uses the Illumina DRAGEN Bio-IT Platform to provide accurate, comprehensive, and efficient analysis.

Next Generation Sequencing Lab

Phenome Omics uses Illumina sequencing which is a highly advanced and widely used technology that enables the rapid and accurate sequencing of DNA and RNA.

Mass Spectrometry Lab

Phenome Omics' state of the art mass spectrometry lab is equipped with the latest instrumentation and staffed with experienced scientists to provide high-quality MS analysis services for a wide range of biological samples.
